Do I need a ticket if I'm coming by boat?

Tickets are not required for Sail-In Cinema. If you're coming by boat just sail in and drop your anchor. Prime viewing space is limited so boaters are encouraged to arrive early to grab a spot.

What should I bring?

For those on land, please bring a chair, cushion, or picnic blanket to sit on as bum boxes are limited.

Is Sail-In Cinema™ accessible?

Landside access at Corus Quay is fully accessible.

How do I get to Sugar Beach by public transit?

Sugar Beach is located close to a number of transit stops.

If you're taking the subway and want to walk, Sugar Beach is a 15 to 20 minute walk from Union Station. You can also hop on the westbound 509 Harbourfront, get off Queens Quay and walk east.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are permitted. However, they must be on a leash, under your supervision at all times and not be disruptive to other moviegoers.

How will I know where to anchor my boat?

The Toronto Police Services Marine Unit will be on site. Markers will be placed on the screen’s south side to mark the line boaters must anchor behind. Smaller vessels will be anchored closest to the markers whilst large vessels will anchor behind them (see map). Boaters are advised to use caution in the area and to take direction from the Marine Unit.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL BOAT OPERATORS MUST HAVE A POWERED VESSEL OPERATOR’S PERMIT and a Pleasure Craft Operator Card.

Is there a limit on the number of boats?

The number of boats will be determined by the availability of space. There is a limited amount of viewing space on the water and it will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL BOAT OPERATORS MUST HAVE A POWERED VESSEL OPERATOR’S PERMIT and a Pleasure Craft Operator Card.

What if I have a rowboat, kayak or canoe?

We recommend that you watch from land or use a powered vessel. The screen will be set on a barge and smaller, manpowered vessels may have their sightlines obstructed by the barge.

Please note that only human-powered craft outfitted with night-time navigation, as per the Canada Shipping Act, are permitted on water after dark.

For questions regarding your craft, please contact the Harbour Master’s office at 416-462-1227.

How will we hear the movie?

Those on land will hear the movie via outdoor speakers set up on the movie barge. Boaters will be able to listen to the movie's audio by tuning a standard radio frequency that will be communicated before a movie begins.

This year's radio frequencies are 90.50000 MHz and 95.50000 MHz.
